How alternatives compare to Shark HP302
Coway Mighty 4-Stage HEPA Air Purifier
The Coway Mighty offers larger coverage at 1,748 square feet, making it better for bigger rooms than the Shark HP302. It targets pet dander and allergies in addition to odor, which the Shark does not explicitly list. You get a washable pre-filter and real-time air quality monitoring, features absent from the Shark. However, it lacks the five-year filter life of the Shark. The Coway is taller and wider, so it takes up more floor space. Choose this if you need allergen control and smart sensing over long-term filter maintenance.
This model is essentially the same unit as the original Shark HP302. It covers 1,400 square feet and targets odor with a HEPA filter. The dimensions and weight are identical. You are getting the same five-year filter life and compact design. There is no functional difference in coverage or filtration specs. This listing may represent a different bundle or color option, though both are white. Pick this only if the price or availability differs from the main listing. Otherwise, the original product data covers all performance aspects equally.
The Shark 500 sq ft model is significantly smaller than the HP302. It covers only 500 square feet, compared to 1,400 for the original. It is much lighter at 5.85 pounds and has a lower profile. You get automatic air quality tracking, which the HP302 data does not confirm. It is ideal for small bedrooms or offices where the larger Shark unit would be too big. If you need whole-room coverage for a large living area, this model is insufficient. Choose it for portability and compact storage.
The Shark HP202 Max covers 1,200 square feet, slightly less than the 1,400 sq ft HP302. It is narrower at 10.8 inches wide, making it slimmer for tight spaces. It also targets odor with HEPA filtration. The HP202 includes automatic particle detection, a feature not listed for the HP302. You trade some coverage area for automatic adjustment capabilities. The HP202 is lighter at 10.9 pounds. Select this if you want auto-adjustment and a slimmer profile, even if you lose 200 square feet of coverage.
The DREO Smart Air Purifier focuses on small rooms and smart connectivity. It covers 14.21 inches of diameter space, likely smaller than the Shark HP302. You get Wi-Fi and Alexa control, which the Shark lacks. It monitors PM2.5, dust, pollen, and smoke, offering broader pollutant tracking than the odor-focused Shark. It includes sleep mode and an air quality monitor. Choose this if you want app control and detailed air quality data. You give up the large coverage area and five-year filter life of the Shark for smart features.
The DREO 15-Inch model is designed for small rooms with smart home integration. It covers 967 square feet, less than the Shark HP302. It offers Wi-Fi and Alexa control, which the Shark does not have. It targets odor, smoke, dust, pollen, and PM2.5. The unit includes sleep mode and customizable RGBIC lighting. You get smart features and aesthetic customization instead of the Shark’s large coverage and long filter life. Pick this if you prioritize app control and lighting effects over raw air cleaning power for large spaces.
