Key specs explained for this unit
Tank Capacity: 480ml
This capacity holds a modest amount of water, suitable for personal use rather than whole-room coverage. You will need to refill the tank frequently, especially if you run the device continuously. This size fits well on a desk or nightstand without taking up much space. It is ideal for short bursts of humidification during work or sleep.
Moisture Output: up to 140ml per hour
The output rate determines how quickly the mist fills the immediate area around you. A rate of 140ml per hour provides noticeable hydration for your personal zone. This is sufficient to relieve dry skin or irritated sinuses in a small space. Compare this to larger units that output significantly more mist for entire rooms, which this device is not designed to serve.
Maximum Runtime: 3-6H
The runtime indicates how long the device can operate on a single fill. Depending on the mist setting you choose, the unit will last between three and six hours. This duration covers a typical work shift or a night's sleep for many users. You should plan your refilling schedule around these hours to maintain consistent humidity levels in your immediate environment.
Technology: Ultrasonic
Ultrasonic technology uses high-frequency vibrations to create a fine, cool mist. This method operates quietly, making it suitable for offices or bedrooms where noise is a concern. It does not heat the water, so the mist remains cool to the touch. This is a common and effective method for personal humidifiers, offering efficient moisture dispersion without the safety concerns of warm mist systems.
Mist Type: Cool Mist
Cool mist humidifiers release room-temperature vapor into the air. This type is generally safer around children and pets because there is no risk of burns from hot water or steam. It is also energy-efficient since it does not require heating elements. This feature makes the unit a practical choice for personal use in various settings, including cars and hotel rooms.
Design and build details
The HandFan 480ml Dual Mist Portable Humidifier measures 3.26 by 7.36 inches and weighs 8.82 ounces. These dimensions indicate a compact footprint that fits easily on desks or bedside tables. The listing describes the form factor as portable, which aligns with its lightweight build. You can carry it in a bag for travel or office use without significant bulk.
The device features a dual nozzle output structure. This design allows for a maximum mist output of 140ml per hour. The listing notes four adjustable spray modes. You can switch between these modes with a single click. This control layout suggests straightforward operation for quick adjustments in different environments.
The finish is described as simple and stylish. The listing states the unit serves as a sleek decor piece. It is available in a grey color. The listing also warns against using pure water to prevent desktop wetting. This practical note implies the mist may disperse slightly beyond the immediate nozzle area. You should place the unit on a surface that can handle minor moisture exposure. The compact size and simple controls make it suitable for personal use in tight spaces like cars or hotel rooms.
Setup and Everyday Use Guide
Setting up this unit requires minimal effort. You fill the 480ml tank with mineral water or tap water. The listing explicitly advises against using pure or distilled water, noting that such liquids can cause water accumulation and wet your desktop. This simple step prepares the device for operation.
Power is supplied via a USB cable. This connection method allows you to place the humidifier on a desk, bedside table, or in a car. The compact dimensions of 3.26 by 7.36 inches and a weight of 8.82 ounces make it easy to move between locations. You can take it for travel, hotel stays, or office use without significant bulk.
Daily operation involves selecting from four adjustable mist modes. You switch modes with a single click to match your current environment, whether you are working, sleeping, or traveling. The ultrasonic technology produces cool mist at a maximum output of 140ml per hour. This rate provides fast humidification to relieve dry discomfort from air conditioning or heating.
The device includes an auto shut-off feature. This safety mechanism activates when the water runs out, protecting the unit and preventing damage. Runtime lasts between three and six hours on a full tank. You will need to refill the tank frequently to maintain continuous moisture. The dual-nozzle structure ensures even distribution of the fine mist across your immediate personal space.
Before You Buy This Unit
Owning this HandFan unit means accepting a small, personal hydration tool rather than a room-wide solution. You will need to refill the 480ml tank every few hours, depending on your chosen mist setting. Keep mineral or tap water nearby, as the listing warns that distilled water causes desktop wetness. Ensure you have access to a USB port or cable for power, since the device relies on external connectivity. This compact ultrasonic humidifier fits well alongside larger air purifiers in your 1 product lineup, offering targeted moisture for your immediate workspace or bedside. It does not clean the air, so pair it with a dedicated purifier if you need allergen removal. Regular cleaning is essential to prevent mineral buildup in the dual nozzles. Check your travel requirements to confirm the size meets carry-on guidelines if you plan to take it on trips. This device complements other options by addressing dry air locally.

- Confirm you have a USB power source available for use.
- Verify you can use mineral or tap water, not distilled.
